Langkilde & Søn has been producing flags since 1938 and is now in the 4th generation.
We are the Royal Purveyor to the Danish national flag and we are proud of that.
Our story goes back to 1938 when Oluf Langkilde fell off a mast while a seaman. After that the sailing was over and he was put in charge of repairing the Navy's flag. It took place in a small attic in Nyboder in Copenhagen. This developed into a small flag factory, which his son Gunnar later took over together with his wife Kirstine.
In 2009, the 4th generation took over the company, namely Lisbeth's daughters Nicole and Chantall. Nicole and Chantall have added new ideas and new possibilities and today Langkilde & Søn also produces the Nordic Way of Celebration series, a series consisting of napkins, table runners, flag vines and flags for birthdays, Christmas and other festive occasions.
